Matthew is originally from Lake Orion, MI. Collegiately, he was a member of the Football (soccer) Team at the University of Essex in the England from 2014 to 2017 (captaining the side in 2017). During graduate school, he was a member of the Football Team at the London School of Economics in England from 2017 to 2018. After working with Liverpool FC International Academy Clarkston (formerly Michigan Impact) from May 2016-December 2018 and with Liverpool FC International Academy Ann Arbor from February 2019-June 2019 he joined Chelsea SC in the Spring of 2020.

Giorgi, born in the Republic of Georgia, moved to the United States in 2010. With a playing experience spanning 13 years, Giorgi has also been coaching for 7 years. In 2007, they started their coaching journey as the JV boys coach and Varsity assistant at Pinckney High School. After a year, they transitioned to Ypsi High School, where they coached both the boys and girls varsity teams. In 2018, Giorgi was hired by the UM Flint Men’s team, and in 2023, they took on the role of the Chelsea Girls Varsity coach.

Daniel was born and raised in Connecticut, where his love for soccer began. He honed his skills playing with Oakwood SC and FSA FC, alongside his two brothers. His soccer journey reached its pinnacle at Kingswood Oxford, where he earned accolades such as Connecticut All-State, New England Prep School Athletic Council (NEPSAC), and Western New England Prep Schools Soccer Association (WNEPSSA) honors.

While pursuing a degree in Music at Vassar College, Daniel explored other athletic endeavors, including Track and Field and Crew. Notably, he achieved a commendable 4th place finish at the 2019 NY State Rowing Championships in the Varsity Eight competition.

Daniel currently works in technology consulting and shares his musical talents as a performer with the Ypsilanti Symphony.

Eli brings a wealth of playing and coaching experience to the Chelsea Soccer Club community. As a former member of the University of Michigan Flint Men’s Soccer Team, Eli honed his skills on the field while competing at a collegiate level.

 

Transitioning from player to coach, Eli has dedicated himself to nurturing the next generation of soccer talent. He has served as the Assistant Coach for both the Chelsea High School Girls JV and Varsity teams since 2023, where he has played an integral role in developing players’ skills and fostering a competitive spirit.

 

In addition to his high school coaching duties, Eli has been an essential part of the coaching staff at Chelsea Soccer Club since 2023. His commitment to player development and passion for the game shine through in his coaching approach.

Eli holds a USSF Grassroots (formerly E License), demonstrating his dedication to coaching education and furthering his coaching expertise. He continues to pursue opportunities for growth and development both on and off the field.

Eli is a proud graduate of the University of Michigan Flint, where he received his education while also making significant contributions to the soccer program.

After playing soccer from a young age, Katie began playing competitively with New Mexico Sting in high school. After making state history as the first public school team to play in a state championship game, she got involved with the Olympic Development Program. Meanwhile, she assisted in coaching for the Taos Youth Soccer League as well as a travel team for U12 Taos girls. As a three year captain at Taos High School, Katie repeatedly earned all-district and all-state accolades before pursuing a collegiate career at Vassar College, an NCAA Division III school in the Liberty League. However, after an early medical retirement, she switched her focus to the school’s rowing team and went on to earn a captaincy, an All-American second team honor, and a gold medal at the Dad Vails Regatta in her senior year.

Didi Landa, originally born in Kinshasa, DR Congo, embarked on his lifelong soccer journey, having played the sport since childhood. Upon relocating to the United States in 2013, he seamlessly transitioned into organized club soccer, beginning his club career. His versatile playing experience spans both goalkeeping and defensive positions, contributing to a comprehensive understanding of the game.

Caitlin is from Dexter, and has an extensive playing career in many top level clubs in the state of Michigan. She had stints with the Michigan Rush, the Michigan Hawks and Michigan Alliance, and was part of the ODP team from U11 to U13. With Michigan Rush, she won a State Cup Championship. At the high school level, she played three years of varsity soccer with Dexter, where she won the SEC Championship all three seasons, and was a State Semi-finalist in 2016. She earned All SEC Conference, All District, All Region and All State honors in 2016. Recently, Coach Caitlin was named head coach for the JV team with the Chelsea HS girls soccer program.

Brody joins us after playing in college at the D2 level at The University of Findlay, and then at the NAIA level at Concordia University Ann Arbor, after a successful club career that included the Michigan ODP Regional team. During his playing days, Brody worked at several soccer camps that sparked his interest in coaching. Brody is passionate about teaching the game of soccer to the younger athletes, and we believe his knowledge of the game will become an asset of our club!

Steph Steltzer

Steph is originally from Milwaukee, WI, but has lived in Boston, MA, Madison, WI, and San Francisco, CA before landing in Ann Arbor, MI for a PhD in Physiology with a focus in Orthopaedic Surgery. Throughout grade school, Steph participated in school soccer, several club soccer teams, as well as the Olympic Development Program. More recently, she played for the University of Wisconsin Club Soccer team during her undergraduate career, and presently plays in the local Ann Arbor recreational leagues.
